Aris EM meter is certificated to be applied within ASCA PC of digital substation

07 February 2017

The digital multifunctional electric energy meter ARIS EM, developed by the company “Prosoft Systems”, is registered in the State register of measuring instruments. The corresponding certificate has been issued by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology.

ARIS EM is used as part of power energy commercial metering system ASCA PC while developing digital substations. It is considered to be the first electric meter manufactured in Russia using its digital interface IEC 61850-9-2LE. The principle of its operation is based on the receipt of instantaneous current and voltage values from the process bus within the mode of IEC 61850-9-2.

In addition to measurement and commercial metering, ARIS EM also monitors the quality of electricity. The Head of “Prosoft Systems” Ltd. power systems automation solutions department Aleksey Dymshakov underlines, that nowadays it is considered to be the only device certified in Russia regarding similar functionality. The meter supports the MMS server, is able to be operated due to the parallel backup network PRP-protocol, and also accepts up to four IEC 61850-9-2LE streams, including signal sampling rate of up to 256 points per period.

It should be noted that successful tests of ARIS EM meter due to interoperability as the part of IEC 61850-9-2LE interface with fiber-optic current and voltage converter (FOCVC) developed by CJSC "Profotek" and the bus interface device (BID) ENMU have been performed previously.

Nowthat, the ARIS EM meter is used as part of ASCA PC systems within the framework of pilot projects aimed to create the digital substation per 220 kV at “Magistralnaya” substation in Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod HPP.
