Prosoft-Systems conducts integrated automation of Primorskaya TPP
Prosoft-Systems is participating in the construction of Primorskaya TPP, the fourth power plant in the Kaliningrad region, being built as part of the state program to strengthen the region's energy security. The station's launch, which will include three steam power units with a total capacity of 195 MW, is scheduled for 2020. By this time, Prosoft-Systems specialists will have carried out the integrated automation of the facility: outfit it with equipment for emergency control automation and energy communication, as well as create systems for process data exchange with system operator, smart electricity-metering, and emergency events recording.
Construction of the Primorskaya TPP, designed to diversify the region’s fuel balance, is underway in the Svetlovsk municipality of the Kaliningrad region. Currently, the entire required amount of automation equipment, equalling 26 wiring cabinets, is already on site, and Prosoft-Systems specialists are ready to begin the installation work. MKPA microprocessor packages with functions for automatic overload protection; automatics for liquidation of asynchronous operation; and automatic power plant load shedding; emergency event recorders for measuring current, voltage, power and frequency, as well as recording oscillograms of emergency modes; and UNC-1 devices for measuring the ambient temperature during the implementation of the automatic overload protection algorithm were installed at the TPP.
The smart electricity-metering system is built on the base of the ECOM-3000 data collecting and transmitting devices. The hardware component includes six automation cabinets, and the upper level is represented by the multifunctional software package Energosfera 8. The process data exchange system with system operator is based on eight process cabinets. It is made to transmit data to the system Operator on currents and power at the connections, signals indicating the position of switching devices, and signals on the triggering or failure of relay protection devices and emergency control systems.
As a part of this project, Prosoft-Systems specialists will arrange the metrological certification of the equipment and, by the end of construction, will have fully prepared the automated system of energy resource record-keeping to enter the wholesale power market.
In 2017 and 2018, Prosoft-Systems conducted integrated automation of three other Kaliningrad power plants, covered under this state program — the Mayakovskaya, Talakhovskaya and Pregolskaya TPPs. The company's specialists equipped the facilities with systems for emergency control automation, process data exchange with system operator, emergency events recording and transient mode monitoring. These stations ensure a power reserve of the Kaliningrad region energy system when operating in isolation from the rest of the Russian Federation. The developments from Prosoft-System allow them to deftly manage the electrical equipment.
