REGUL R500 PLC for Integrated Marine Vessel Control Systems

16 July 2019

For the first time ever, Prosoft-Systems has presented its programmable logic controller, REGUL R500, at the largest international exhibition for shipbuilding — the International Maritime Show in Saint Petersburg. The presentation for the device took place at the Prosoft-Systems stand. The controller's unique technical characteristics — its powerful computing tools, flexible structural organization, quick bus system response speed, and great redundancy potential — aroused a keen interest among developers of integrated ship automation systems.
REGUL R500 is designed to build highly reliable redundant control systems. It is a convenient hardware/software tool to create integrated ship automation systems of any level of complexity, including integrated bridge systems. The controller provides automation for:

  • Navigation
  • Dynamic positioning
  • Diesel and electric propulsion units
  • Power distribution among equipment
  • Technological tools and life/environmental support systems
  • Fire alarm and fire suppression management on drilling rigs
  • Administration tasks, and more

In 2018, REGUL R500 PLC was certified by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. Certification tests affirmed that REGUL R500 is suitable for automating control systems and machinery on vessels and floating structures, and it also meets the RMRS's requirements for equipment on oil & gas rigs.
