The revenue-metering equipment at the largest combined-cycle CHP in the Urals comes from Prosoft-Systems
Prosoft-Systems helped to reconstruct one of the biggest providers of heat in Chelyabinsk — the Chelyabinsk CHP-4 plant (prior to 2018 it was known as the Chelyabinsk TPP). The company's expert staff created an advanced energy metering (AMS) system that is designed to collect data remotely and control the parameters of the electric power flowing through the new gas-insulated switchgear and the combined-cycle power units
Chelyabinsk CHP-4, the first power plant in the Chelyabinsk region, began operations in 1930. An entirely new facility was built between the years 2015 and 2017, completely replacing the obsolete generators of the old Chelyabinsk TPP, as part of an investment program by Fortum PJSC. After the reconstruction was finished, the Chelyabinsk TPP became the largest combined-cycle CHP in the Urals. Today its generator hall holds more than 1,300 units of equipment and the plant has a thermal capacity of 988.6 MW.
The updates to the AMS at Chelyabinsk CHP-4 were carried out in five stages. Expert staff from Prosoft-Systems installed seven equipment cabinets. The ECOM-3000 data collection unit gathers information from 20 commercial revenue-metering stations and 175 technical revenue-metering stations. At the top level of the system, the Energosfera software suite carries out the primary tasks related to revenue metering. Once the project was complete, from the initial stages of its development to the verification that the equipment met the requirements of the wholesale electricity market, the turnkey system was ready.
